Let’s Practice Echappés!

Hi!  Welcome back to my blog.

This week. we’re going to review (and practice!) the ballet step called “échappé”.

This word is pronounced, ay’-shah-pay’.

This is a step in which we jump out from fifth position to second position and then back again.

This step can be practiced at the barre with just a little jump or in the middle of the room with a bigger jump.

I don’t know exactly what the teacher is saying because I don’t speak her language.

But the échappé is the same step we do in our ballet classes.

 Isn’t that wonderful?

We could go anywhere in the whole world and the steps would be the same and the names of those steps would also be the same.  Wow!

I found another picture for us to color.  Ask your mom or dad to print it out for you and don’t forget to say “please” and “thank you”.

I didn’t know flamingos could dance!  Did you?

I’m going to practice the  échappé now.

Please come back to see me next week.  ‘Bye.

xoxoxo,
