Hi! Welcome back to my blog.
Starting today, we’re going to be reviewing all the things we’ve learned in the past few months. It’s important to go over each position and ballet movement so we don’t forget how to do them.
Remember first position arms and feet? Look at the pictures below and try the positions yourself. I’ll bet it’s a lot easier this time than it was when you first learned about them.
First position arms
Now you try it.
Remember to keep your arms nice and rounded and hold them strongly so they don’t droop. Nothing looks worse than droopy arms!
First position for feet
When you try this position be careful not to force your feet to point all the way to each side. Turn them out only a little at first. When you’ve been practicing for a few years, you will be able to turn your feet out completely.
Below is a video of children auditioning (trying out) for a ballet production:
If we practice really hard maybe we can be in a big ballet production some day, too. I sure hope so!
Here’s a ballet picture for you to color. Ask your mom or dad to print it out for you. As always, don’t forget to say “please” and “thank you”.
Just click on the link and the picture will appear in a new window.
I hope you’ll come back again next week. See you then. In the meantime, don’t forget to practice.
