Let’s Do a Degage

Hi!  Welcome back to my blog.


Today we’re going to learn about the ballet step called “degagé”.  The word

“degagé” means to “disengage”.


This step is a little bit like the “battement tendu” we talked about before except that you will lift your foot off the floor this time.   That’s the disengaging part.

Try it yourself.  You may need to hang on to the back of a chair so you don’t fall down.


I love to practice this step.  It’s so much fun to do!


Below is a ballet picture for you to color.  Ask your mom or dad to print it out for you.  Don’t forget to say “thank you”.



Uh, oh, it’s time for ballet class.


Next week, we’ll learn about “frappé”.
